A Study on Project Adjustments based on Service Needs of Senior Welfare Center: Focusing on A-Gu in Seoul

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to investigate the current situation of service needs and service use intentions by service needs assessment, and explore readjustments for the direction of general management of the senior welfare center. Proportional stratified sampling of seniors(using centers more than three months, seniors not using centers), and baby-boomers in A-Gu in Seoul and 1:1 interviews using a structured questionnaire from 12 June 2013 to 26 June 2013 conducted. The results showed that the elderly and the baby boomers primarily realized leisure life support, provision of health care services, economic support, and employment assistance as the emphasis functions of the senior welfare center. They also wished health promotion services, leisure and cultural life, life-long educational support, income security in old age, and job and work support as the main service directions of senior welfare center. There were considerations the order of priority on the project area and full projects using time criteria such as short, medium and long-term service planning and service selection criteria such as the current situation of service needs, service necessity, and the differences between them. This study suggested the implications of the utilization of project adjustments based on service needs of senior welfare center.
